The Disc Master's Domain - Online Gaming Service

The Disc Master's Domain...Enters CLOSED BETA!!!! Finally...After all this time!

Well, First off... "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" and with that said, I'd also like to mention that the "Disc Master's Domain - Online Gaming Service". is ready to start seeing action. We will be running a closed beta for at least a month or two, then the site will be open to the masses.

Now, I know its been many, many years, but during that time, progress on the service was made in spurts. I'd get the itch and spend a week or so dedicated to advancing the system closer to it's final goal of being a live 24/7 gaming service. I've added new features, new games, and also tweaked the website, and the system menus themselves. For example, my latest development spurt began on 12/29/2012 late in the evening and for all of 12/30 and 12/31 I performed further testing and even completed a completely new menu set, or theme. When users login to the system now they have the choice between the default graphical theme and a streamlined quicker to access and not so bloated set of menus.

I'm extremely happy with the results so far and now I look forward to testing with others, fixing bugs, making adjustments and of course adding more doors, all of which shall be completely registered to our system.

Well, I guess that is all for now. Keep checking back here for our next news update. Hopefully it won't be another 4 or 5 years. ;)

The Disc Master's Domain...LIVES!!!! Work Progresses

It's been almost 4 years since my last update and probably just as long since I last touched webpage development. During that time though, I have worked on and off on the "Disc Master's Domain - Online Gaming Service". Last night I finally got off my butt and spent 3 or 4 hours installing a new game (2 actually) and upgrading one to it's professionsl version (DoorMUD). While on most systems setting up a game (door in BBS circles) is usually easy and requires little time, here at the DMD it is quite complex. First, we have to get the game functioning properly, then have a program run that converts the high score files to html files which are then automatically uploaded to this website every 5 minutes or so. After that I have to dig up my old webpage design software and add the new game(s) to the High Scores page of this website, then configure it properly to display the scores in the popup window. Once that is all done, we STILL have lots to do. We then have to create a page for the new game(s) for our "Game Listing" page here on the website and write a summary of the game. Following that, we return to the system-side and have to create the internal high score displays. All of this is very time consuming and a simple 10-30 min setup for a new game to be on the system, can turn into 1-2 hours or more, per new game added. As you can see, it is a very time consuming task, but one I will not shy away from. In todays digital age, systems such as "The Disc Master's Domain - Online Gaming Service" are trailing edge technology. If you want to remain relevent and keep having users visit and play your games, you have to do more than the competition. Hence, that is why I put all this effort into this system, site and service. Sadly, it can also be that effort that makes me step away for long periods of time. Alas, the system is very close to going live. I only have to fix a few menu screens, finish up some help screens and then testing can begin with the going live date shortly following.

Please note, I truly do plan to continue working on this system and I hope to make a going live announcement shortly. Lets hope thats not 4 years from now as it was when I last posted on this site in 2007. :(

Welcome to The Disc Master's Domain! Grand Reopening

Welcome to the The Disc Master's Domain - Online Gaming Service. This service is in beta testing. There is still lots to do, but the major features are done and users can enjoy the online games that the service has to offer. As we go through testing, we will tweak some areas, add new features and more games. If you would like to help beta test this service, please go to the Access the Service page and apply for access there. During testing the services provided will be FREE. The only thing we will ask of our users is to report any problems, issues or ideas they may have regarding our service. Upon completion of the BETA testing phase we will go LIVE at which point we continue to offer our service for....FREE! :) Yes that is right! Access to The Disc Master's Domain will always be FREE, although if any of our users wish to donate to the system, it would be greatly appreciated. Any donations would go to enhancing the service and not into the pockets of anyone here at The Disc Master's Domain.
